Vetting Law enters in effect, President allows it with silence

The official deadline expired this Monday, but everything was clear
since the moment that President Nishani started his travel to the USA.
The Vetting Law will now be published on the Official Bulletin, and 15 days later will be created the institution that deals with the image of judges and Prosecutors.
The Democratic Party, which didn’t vote the law on August 30th, criticized it and considered it a mechanism that allows verifications to be done by people close to the Prime Minister, and which ruins the consensus of July 21st. However, the Democrats have not come up with an official stance regarding the law.
The Vetting law is the most important part of the justice reform implementation. It foresees the creation of an international mission which will review the testing process of all judges and prosecutors currently on duty, and also the process of new applicants.
