A Special Intervention Unit (FNSH) police officer was killed today in
Torovica, Lezha, after David Qosja, resident, had started shooting with a
gun in the air, making alarmed neighbors call immediately the police.
Police requested help from the Special Intervention Unit, who surrounded the house of the suspect. But David Qosja fired his gun towards the officer, initially wounding Adrian Kodra, 50. He was sent to hospital, but couldn’t survive the wounds.
The Lezhe police say David Qosja is known in the area as a person with mental problems, although hospitals have not released any official document for him. The operation for stopping him is still undergoing.
