Court of Appeal Chief Secretary arrested in Durres, Minister reacts

A high-level secretary (Chancellor) at the Durres Court of Appeal, Suzana Mandija, was arrested over passive corruption.

She is suspected of having manipulated lots for judge panels in several cases.

The arrest was made after three months of investigations and by the Directory for Investigation at the Economic and Financial Crime, in cooperation with the Prosecution of Serious Crimes of Tirana. This method of investigation provided the evidence for her corruptive activity.

The Minister of Justice, Ylli Manjani, discharged Mandija as soon as he received the news and greeted the work of the Prosecution.
