The Greek Authorities sent this Thursday an arrest order against Klement Balili, accused of leading a drug traffic network that operated throughout Europe.

The Greek media considered the person in question as the “baron of drugs” in Balkan, together with another Albanian living in Belgium, Dhimiter.P.

The person in question, mentioned by the Greek media and the opposition in Tirana, has been until this Friday appointed as Director of Transportation in Saranda.

The State Police say they have asked the Prosecution General to arrest Balili several times, but they haven’t received any answer. Director Haki Cako confirmed the undergoing investigations, but he didn’t comment on specific names.

His arrest was requested by the Police, although there was no arrest order from Greece. Top Channel inquired at the Prosecution, but no comment was given from them either. Police confirmed yesterday that they had been informed about the case, which had started two years ago, together with the Greek Police and the American DEA.

The Greek Police in Athens confirmed for Top Channel that the arrest order was translated to English and sent to Albania, and now they are waiting for the arrest.
