A few hours after the court issued a verdict about the construction of
the apartment buildings at the Tirana Artificial Lake dam, Mayor Erion
Veliaj considered it as scandalous and unprecedented. He invited
citizens to protest on Wednesday at the Court of Administrative Appeal.
The justice system has fallen, Veliaj said, because a judge has secretly rejected the request of the Tirana Municipality for changing the judge panel, due to conflict of interest. Tomorrow’s verdict will be unfair, according to the Mayor, and in favor of building five apartment buildings at the lake. Veliaj says the permit is against the law and for this he blames President Nishani, former PM Sali Berisha and the current DP leader, Lulzim Basha, his predecessor.
