Nishani with Venice experts: “Judiciary reform must be all inclusive”

“The judiciary reform need to be all inclusive and effective,” declared
the Albanian President, Bujar Nishani, during a meeting with the Venice
Commission experts.
“The judiciary reform should be all inclusive, effective and long term, undergoing a long and detailed public discussion with the opinions and suggestions of all groups of interests, civil society and independent legal experts”, the President declared.
The President discussed with the experts of the Venice Commission about the fight against corruption in the judiciary, and an essential reform of the justice system, seen also as part of the European integration of Albania, a procedure for reaching progressive European standards.
A few weeks ago, President Nishani asked the involvement of the President in the justice reform, through a long letter addressed to the Special Commission, complaining of being left out.
