Tirana-Verona, cooperation for green public transportation

Mayor Erion Veliaj welcomed today in Tirana his Verona counterpart, Federico Sboarina.

“I am looking forward to starting with public transportation projects. I have said it before. If the transportation companies will not answer and modernize their fleet with green buses, we will certainly be ready to find other solutions. We are discussing today some concrete projects, trusting that the best is yet to come”, Mayor Veliaj declared.

“I want to thank Erion for welcoming me in such a special way because hospitality is also a value. I have seen many things, but what did strike me most is that Tirana is a city under development, a city that is growing in an important way. I didn’t know it before, but I have seen beautiful photos of how it was and how it is now. We want to be in synergy with a capital like Tirana because working together means growing together. This is why I agree that the best is yet to come”, said the Mayor of Verona, Sboarina.

Mayor Veliaj gave his counterpart the City’s Key, in a sign of friendship between both cities.

Then they visited the Skanderbeg Square, which has turned into a public space dedicated to citizens.

Symbolically, Veliaj and Sboarina planted several trees.
