The Western World had a cold reception for Putin’s fourth mandate, but in the Balkan region, there are enthusiastic voices that greet Moscow.

Serbians in Bosnia and Belgrade were happy with Putins victory. The leader of the Serbian Republic in Bosnia, Milorad Dodik, said this Monday that the results prove that Putin’s policies as leader of Russia were successful.

“We will continue to reinforce our relations for the best of both people”, the SRNA new agency is quoted.

The Serbian President, Alexandar Vucic, sent a congratulatory message to Kremlin.

“Russia is an honest friend and credible partner for Russia. You can rely on our contribution and determination to deepen the cooperation and realize all joint projects”, Vucic declared.

In Montenegro, Putin received messages from the pro-Russian opposition.

“Under the leadership of Vladimir Putin, Russia has turned into a symbol of hope for all people that defend stability and peace in the region”, declared President Igor Dodon.

The message of the Croatian President was void of enthusiasm, while Albania, Macedonia, Romania and Bulgaria joined the EU and stayed silent.
