The Tirana Municipality project for turning Tirana’s schools into community centers has attracted attention from world-wide media.
“Monocle” Magazine has conducted an interview with Tirana’s Mayor, Erion Veliaj, who explained that by turning the schools into Community Centers children can use the premises after teaching hours for various activities, sportive and cultural.
The magazine that is distributed worldwide said that after the fall of communism, a large number of public community buildings were privatized by first owners.
This situation, according to Monocle, continued until 2015 when Mayor Veliaj started a new procedure for using public properties for the population, which in Tirana is very dense.
