Ring Road, accuses for deviation

14 houses have been destroyed today in Sauk, completing this way the
number of 42 homes that were planned to be demolished for opening way to
the Tirana new Ring Road.

Among the family members who expect compensation, there are others who had constructed houses without permissions, but that had started the legalization process. As for the compensation, they say with resentment that the offices bring them around without a clear answer.

“I am not against the construction of the roads, for the houses that are on their way should be demolished. But they should pay for the houses, so that we can rent a house somewhere else. The institutions are bringing us around, and this is unjust”, says one of them.

The residents accuse that the Road Ring has deviated from the original plan, because some house owners have paid for not having their houses destroyed.

“This is the first time that a road ring is constructed with zig-zags. Berisha is doing this. I voted him, but he is destroying our homes”, the resident added.

Meanwhile, according to the construction inspectorate in Tirana, the entire construction line for the new Ring Road is free of constructions.

“We are on the last day of demolishing constructions, and this segment will finish. The construction company will start cleaning”, declared Dem Dollapi.

Meanwhile, the owners whose houses were demolished are waiting to receive the compensation money and the construction permits from Tirana Municipality, in order to start building their homes from scratch.
