Rama: Will rise against violence

The Socialist Party leader, Edi Rama, considered as “ridiculous” the
arguments used by the Prime Minister Sali Berisha in favor of the
Central Election Commission for counting the contested vote counts.

“We heard Sali Berisha in the role of Central Election Commission’s legal advisor. He spoke without a sense only for showing that he is the only one who is orchestrating the masquerade that is violating the law, for stealing our clear victory in Tirana”, Rama declared.

The left centered candidate for the Tirana Municipality appealed the head of the government to abandon this “masquerade” that, according to him, could have grave consequences.

“I don’t know what value might have the appeals of a disorganized mind, but on behalf of this country’s citizens and its highest interests, I appeal Berisha to stop this masquerade that he has orchestrated, and to back his thieves off our victory”, Rama declared, warning that the opposition will not recognize the outcome of this recount.

“The opposition not only will not accept the fabricated outcome, but will not recognize neither your government, which is deciding results with ballot boxes that are missing the security codes. Stop this shame that humiliates Albania and offends every Albanian”, Rama declared.

According to him, these actions come as consequence of the deep desperation that the Prime Minister has had for the loss of Tirana, and also for losing the areas that some times ago were considered as Democratic Party’s stronghold.

“The arguments of Sali Berisha are ridiculous and frightening, because they show where this country has ended to, towards what abyss Albania is going to. Berisha cannot turn his own desperation into desperation for the entire election process. Berisha is deepening a crisis that makes him responsible for every consequence that damages integration, peace, security and stability in the entire region”, Rama underlined.

Rama declared that the opposition will not back off, and he also warned that all people who have been violated by this dictatorship will rise.
