The Albanian Prime Minister, Edi Rama, said this Friday that the main purpose of the opposition is to invalidate the country’s efforts to start the EU accession negotiations.
Rama said for the Associated Press that he was determined that the June 30th elections would be held on that day, regardless of the turmoil that the opposition has started since February.
“It is being done to create a negative influence, to tell Europe that this country is not stable and cannot be taken seriously”, Rama said, referring to the violent protests.
