The Democratic Party leader, Lulzim Basha, did not respond to the Court’s subpoena to testify about the so called “Russian lobbying”, with the argument that the Court did not provide the adequate documentation.
The Prosecution of Tirana has reacted very harshly by ordering for Basha to be taken to testify by force.
The Prosecution is also investigating the former General Secretary of the Democratic Party, and former MP, Arben Ristani; and also Ilir Dervishi, the economist of the Democratic Party.
