Tirana Prosecution asked the suspension of the Director of the Municipal
Police, Florenc Hoxha, after two female employers sued him for physical
violence.
The Socialist councilors at the Municipal Council insist with their request for an urgent meeting of the Council, also based on the grave incident that happened with the Municipal Police one day ago at Top-Channel’s premises.
“We asked an urgent meeting of the Municipal Council, due to the physical violence exerted against the two female workers in a state administration office. Unfortunately, there has been no reaction by the chairman of the Municipal Council or the Mayor. The yesterday’s event, the violation of Top-Channel’s property with the blessing of the Municipal Police is a very grave action against the media. We ask the ambassadors to not be misused as a background by the Mayor, when Municipality employers are being physically attacked in the offices. The entire people of Tirana know what represents a central government after it has stolen the ballots. Now they know what a local government represents after stealing ballots”, declared the head of the opposition Municipal Councilors, Aldrin Dalipi.
This is not the first time that the Socialist Councilors are asking a meeting of the Municipal Council, which by rule must gather once a month and when summoned by the Mayor, the Prefect or 13 of the councilors.
