Kosovo government reserved a special place for the Chief of EU Diplomacy, Catherine Ashton.

After a meeting in Prishtina with Kosovo government officials and EULEX, Ashton and Kosovo Prime Minister Thaçi visited Prizren.

In this city Ashton reconfirmed Kosovo’s European perspective. She encouraged the dialogue with Serbia for technical issues, in order that both countries enter EU.

“This dialogue is the most practical way of guaranteeing that we will improve people’s life and give them better conditions. What we must do, is working with both parties, for making the necessary steps and achieve an agreement for technical issues. I hope that this agreement will be reached soon”, Ashton declared.

“We are working for the implementation of the democratic criteria, in order to accelerate Kosovo’s European Future. Only a good cooperation between Kosovo, Serbia and other neighbors could bring this future. The talks require a clear stance from EU, which has not been lacking”, Prime Minister Thaçi declared after her.

Ashton refused to comment about the situation in Albania. Her Spokesperson, Maja Kocjancic, refused to answer questions about the political situation in Albania.

But in some way, she warned Ashton’s visit at Tirana, saying that “our comments for the situation in Albania will be given there”.
