The President of Albania, Ilir Meta, has authorized Albania’s delegation to negotiate the maritime border with Greece.
This move unblocks the dialogue between Athens and Tirana for discussing a series of matters, and also the visit opf Greek Prime Minister Tsipras in Korca for the Orthodox Easter, where he will meet with Rama.
One day ago, on the Greek newspaper To Vima, Meta had said that the new agreement should not cross the red line, which is the ruling of the Albanian Constitutional Court, which rejected the Berisha-Karamanlis agreement of 2009.
“Albania and Greece are interested to have a legally perfect maritime agreement, but also practically applicable and permanently irreversible”, Meta said.
