The Police and Prosecution have destroyed one of the most dangerous criminal gangs that operated in Shkoder and abroad.
The investigation at the Court of Serious Crimes started in April 2018, when an explosive was placed against Lul Kulla. 11 people have been arrested after this investigation, and four of the members were imprisoned in early September, after several police raids.
Another key man who was arrested is Behar Bajri. He was caught in Rotterdam, after leaving Albania for more than a week ago. Police were informed about him by foreign authorities and he was arrested, together with his partners.
“The members of this criminal group have threatened several citizens for money. They are also being investigated for the recent crimes that took place in Shkoder”, Veliu declared.
“Bajri, in cooperation with other criminal groups, inside and outside Albania, were suspected of trafficking drugs in Europe. They invested the money inside Albania”, the State Police director declared.
Among the arrested suspects is the former goal-keeper, Armir Grimaj. He is suspected for tricking the Vllaznia-Terbuni match, which was held this May.
