Parliament votes Albania’s new Prosecutor General

The Parliament of Albania has voted Olsian Cela as the new Prosecutor General of Albania for the next seven years. He will replace Arta Marku.

For Arta Marku, the Parliament voted with 11 votes in favor, 22 against and 78 abstaining. For Fatjona Memcaj there were 8 votes in favor, 16 against and 87 abstaining.

Olsian Cela started his career in 2001, and has been considered as the Prosecutor of Strong Cases.

He worked initially in the Prosecution of Tirana, until 2004, and was later appointed Prosecutor at the Prosecution of Serious Crimes, where he served for four years.
