The OSCE Presence in Albania organized a conference in Tirana for increasing the attendance of women, national minorities and disabled people in all phases of the electoral process.

“Last week, we welcomed the decision of the extra-parliamentary opposition become part of the discussion process for building the new institutions.

“This could fulfill the OSCE/ODIHR’s first key recommendation, which states that the political parties should engage in open and inclusive dialogue, in order to facilitate the electoral reform. We are very happy that they took this decision.

“In January 16, with the creation of the Political Council, the United Opposition brought its platform for discussion, and it included proposals on how to implement the OSCE/ODIHR recommendations”, Borchardt declared, adding that reviewing them all by March 15th will be a difficult challenge, but he wishes all the actors involved good like and to keep up with the desire to compromise
