The Democratic League of Kosovo (LDK) has runoffs for the biggest municipality of the country, the capital Prishtina. LDK’s candidate will face Shpend Ahmeti, who couldn’t win enough votes for a second term.

The former Prime Minister of Kosovo, Isa Mustafa, leader of the LDK, spoke on a live interview for Top Channel.

TCH: Mr.Mustafa, what’s LDK’s opinion on these Kosovo local elections?

Isa Mustafa: It was a positive, regular and transparent process. There have been some small incidents, but all overcome during the day. We have been able to show very good results. We won four communes in this first electoral round. We expect positive results at the Podujeva Commune, where we can win without runoffs, but we have to wait for the Diaspora ballot count. We have runoffs for 10 other communes. We expect to win the ones we have been administering during the previous term. We also hope for three more communes where we have excellent results. With the general popular vote we are also very well positioned.

TCH: Mr.Mustafa, your candidate in Prishtina, Arban Abrashi, will be voted again in the runoffs, against the Self-Determination rival. What are the other parties LDK is going to b cooperating with?

Isa Mustafa: We are going to cooperate with our citizens, without any specific coalition orientation. We would prefer a coalition with citiens, because Arbani has the support of Prishtina’s citizens and we are going to win the runoff, to take Prishtina back with us. Arban has been very accurate with his program, and received great support from citizens, despite the short notice. I think he will win on November 19th.
