For almost three decades, Albanians were seen by Greece only as immigrants looking for a job to help their families.

But the situation has changed, with now most of the Albanian people traveling to the southern neighbor for holidays.

Official date made public by the Greek tourism confederation showed that Albanians spent 236 million Euros in Greece last year, only for holidays.

The figure, which is higher than 2% of Albania’s GDP, is growing year after year.

Albanians also pay more than other tourists, with 68.9 Euros per day, a higher figure than the tourists coming from Italy, the Netherlands, Spain, Denmark and Czechia, all with a higher living standard than Albania.
