One day after the news for the violation of Martyrs’ Cemetery at Korçë,
the local authorities reacted and made partial repairs to the damaged
graves.
The images of the Martyrs’ Cemetery on June 24th clearly show that damages were so severe that one could see the human remains of the Albanians that were killed during the Second World War by the foreign occupiers.
But this is how these cemeteries look today, some days after. The broken slabs were replaced and the human remains are not visible any more.
Those who have done the partial repairs have also cleaned the graves from bad grass.
Former partisans also reacted regarding this matter, and also members of veteran associations.
The only local authorities that gave a press release were the Korçe Police, who confirmed the damage, not from individuals, but from nature.
