The German Foreign Minister, Heiko Maas, has talked about Albania even in Athens, although he went there through Albania, where he met with the Albanian Prime Minister, Edi Rama, and his counterpart Bushati.

“We spoke about the Perspa agreement and the negotiations with Albania”, underlined the head of the Greek diplomacy, Nikos Kotzias, in a press release with the German counterpart. He also explained why the agreement with Tirana is being delayed.

“As you know, we negotiated with Albania, but the negotiations didn’t stall because of us or because of their Foreign Ministry. It happened because of the administrative disagreements that the President has with the government, and because the Constitutional Court is not complete at this moment”, Kotzias explained.

The head of the Greek diplomacy also referred to the referendum in FYROM, supporting the Prespa agreement.

“History should be a school, not a prison. This agreement took us out of the prison. Some dream to get back in. We will not follow them. As Germany has its weight in Europe, and although we are a small country, we have a great responsibility in the region”, said the Greek Foreign Minister.
