Residents of two villages of the Xiber Administrative Unit in Klos, protested today opposing the use of water resources in their area in the service of a hydro-power plant being constructed there.
They protested by blocking the construction firm’s machinery at the site where a road is being opened to access the water source.
Village head Sali Muça said no meetings have been held with the residents so far, and that they have not issued approval signatures.
While contacted by phone about the construction of the HPP, the firm Hency Energy responds that it has all the necessary documentation and that they require a public hearing with residents of the area.
