On the 70th anniversary of Israel’s independence, the Municipality of Tirana and the Embassy of Israel planted 70 new trees in sign of friendship between both people.

The Mayor of Tirana, Erion Veliaj: the Ambassador of Israel, Boaz Rodkin; the Consul of Honor of Israel, Rudolf Xhillari and the chairwoman of the Albania-Israel Friendship Parliamentary Group, Blerina Gjylameti, joined the action for planting the trees and a commemoration plaqe.

“Whoever has visited Israel knows that when people get together for the same purpose, they can do incredible things even in a desert. Israel’s example is inspiring for us. There was no better way to celebrate the 70th anniversary of independence”, Veliaj said.

The Israeli ambassador to Tirana thanked the Municipality of Tirana and the Israel-Albania friendship group.

“We will work with the Tirana municipality to rehabilitate schools before September. We also decided to join the Municipality’s initiative for making the city greener”, the Ambassador declared.
