Investors, high interest on solar power parks in Albania

Solar energy investments are receiving a lot of attention in Albania.

The Ministry of Transportation and Energy has accepted 11 applications from private companies this October only. Their investment geography goes throughout the entire country.

Official documents show that the total investments foreseen for 11 constructions will reach 25 million EUR. Companies will be vetted first by the Ministry of Transportation.

Solar panels would diversify energy sources in Albania, where almost all of it depends mainly on water.

Experts at the Ministry say that due to the climate, solar energy has high yield in Albania. Besides that, the Albanian government offers to buy energy from these investments with a higher price than the market.
