Greece: We will not block Albania, but there will be conditions

“Greece will not block the ambitions of Albania and Northern Macedonia to join the EU”, said a source close to the Greek PM, Kyriakos Mitsotakis, for the “Kathimerini” newspaper.
Although sources form the Prime Ministry say that there will be no veto for the two neighboring countries, Athens specifies that there will be conditions.
“Greece will not say ‘no’ to anyone. However, there will be conditions”, the source said.
Athens is expected to ask Albania better protection of the human rights for the ethnic Greeks, and Skopje to rigorously respect the Prespa agreement.
