Greece offers aid for flood affected areas

The General Secretary for Civilian Protection at the Greek government has sent aid to Albania after the floods that took place in the first three days of this month.

Athens responded this way to a request of Tirana for activating the European Civilian Defense Mechanism.

Greece has sent five generators, 1500 raincoats, 100 boots, water pumps, life jackets, etc, food and diapers for newborn.

More than 700 families were evacuated in Albania as water has flooded 15,000 hectares.

Other countries that are contributing include Austria, France, Italy, Slovakia, Slovenia, Kosovo, Bulgaria, Montenegro and Macedonia.
