Government gives up trying for ARMO: “Its success depends on Bankers”

The Albanian Prime Minister, Edi Rama, declared from Fier that the government cannot guarantee success for ARMO.

“This is a private enterprise. The government’s options are limited. The problems is not related to the bank itself, but also to the inherited financial situation of the company and supply. The progress of the project for every investor in the refinery is tied to the supply guarantee that comes from Bankers. We have given our efforts to help for tourism, but it is a relation between two private companies. At the end of the day it is a matter of prices”, he said.

However, the Prime Minister is optimistic now that a new company has taken it over.

“I hope that the process gets complete fast and we start working without problems. It is a very vulnerable place and keeps creating problems due to the unstable supply. But it is encouraging and we hope to complete it successfully. What we have noticed is that workers who are involved in unions get treated as they deserve. There will be a contract for guaranteeing them. We have progressed with the payments and the oil worker status”, Rama said.
