Gjirokastra has had 20% more tourists than the same period of one year ago.

Investments in hotels and family businesses have increased the number of beds to a total 670, while 300 others are offered by family businesses.

Anja and her friend from Poland say for Top Channel ‘s cameras that they have found nice service in Gjirokastra, on their first trip to Albania.

Dragan from Serbia also arrived to Gjirokastra with a group of friends from his country, on motorbikes. He says that they didn’t expect much when they visited, but they found a warm and great country for holidays.

The Mayor of Gjirokaster says that the main concern for foreign visitors has been the traffic in the historic centre, which will soon turn into a pedestrian area.

Gjirokastra is also creating an integrated tourist guide which will keep visitors longer.
