The bridge collapse in Genoa has taken many lives, causing one of the worst tragedies in the neighboring Italy.

There has been no official announcement so far for any Albanian citizen among the victims, but there are reports that two Albanians have lost their contacts, although it has not been confirmed if this is related to the tragedy.

Ferdinand Sakaj, who lives close to the site, said that five Albanian families have been evacuated.

The bridge, known as the Morandi Bridge, was built in 1960. A segment of 1 kilometer collapsed, taking at least 35 deaths, 13 injured and 10 missing persons. Heavy rains and a structural defect may have been the cause of the problem.
