The port of Durrës opened its doors to the citizens who want to visit
the inner areas, the military ships and the operative rooms of security.
Special activities have been organized in different areas of the port, including an artistic program for all ages. The opening was accompanied by acrobatic performances, artistic shows for children and games that were followed by a concert with famous Albanian singers. After midnight the port was under the power of DJ Standford, from Netherlands.
Such an important event, presented at Quay 4, hosted the first underwater robot that has been produced in Albania. The ROV (Remotely Operated Vehicle) that was called “Eye of the Sea” weighs 36.6 kg and can shoot videos in a depth of 150 meters under water. The robot was produced by a four member team, led by Erald Berberi.
Its launch in water attracted the attention of many visitors in the “Open Port 2011” activity that will continue until the first hours of this Sunday.
