DP leadership votes to have all of their MPs renounce their parliamentary seats

The Democratic Party leadership has voted unanimously in favor of the proposition made by their leader, Lulzim Basha, to have all of their MPs renounce the parliamentary mandates.
Basha said for the media that the renouncing of mandates is the last alternative left to the opposition for reaching their major purpose, of bringing down a criminalized government and offer the people a government for the people.
Basha commented the declaration of the US Embassy, who appealed the MPs to not renounce their mandates:
“I never comment the declarations of foreign embassies in Tirana. But for me and the DP, there is no greater inspiration that the American democracy. I want to quote President Lincoln: ‘This nation, under God, will have a revival, a government from the people, to the people”.
