Central Election Commission: “Political crisis is hurting the elections”

25/03/2019 18:54

The Central Election Commission used the annual report in front of the Commission of Laws to demand more support from the Parliament.

“The political conflict will not leave the CEC uninvolved, because the conflict will also impact the local elections, at least as regards their administration. If this happens, the Parliament will have to give more support to the CEC and defend its independence. In order to have successful local elections, we need a strong, determined, serious and professional administration”, said Klement Zguri.

As for the cooperation with the General Directory of the Civilian Registrar, Zguri said that nothing has been done so far, as they have met with the indifference of the Registrar Office.
