CEC: 26 other ballot boxes to be opened

Central Election Commission continued today to review the four appeals
that aim to change the result of the Tirana mayoral race. One appeal
comes from the Democratic Party, two from the Socialist Party and one
from the Popular Party of Pensioners.
Since the Democratic Party wants a total reassessment of all contested ballots, CEC approved to review the protocols of 26 new voting centers.
These voting centers are added to 117 voting centers where CEC found miscast ballots and added them to the result.
But even in the 26 new voting centers, the contested ballots have been assessed once from the respective Zonal Election Commissions.
After reviewing the protocols of the 26 new centers, CEC must respond to a request made by the Socialist Party, which asks the summary table of Municipal Unit 5 to be considered as invalid, and also the general result table for Tirana Municipality, which CEC itself created some days ago after reassessing the miscast ballots.
