Bulqiza, miners on strike

80 miners of the concessionary company Albanian Chrome ACR, which
operates at Area D of the mining field, started today an 8 hour strike
by interrupting the work as a protest against the company, which,
according to them, has violated the agreement with the miners who
operate as ACR subcontractors.

The miners asked to be paid for the inflation of 4% and to have the food assurance removed, which takes 11.7% off their wage.

Miners say that the contract is scandalous, and that they also want to be paid for chrome evasion, after the theft of 480 tons.

ACR workers must be paid for any quantity of chrome that gets stolen from the ACR.

They also require the new workers to be equipped with working contracts, because they are currently working illegally also within the ACR contract.

The strikers threatened that if any worker would be fired for participating in this strike, all of them will interrupt the work without stopping.
