Socialist Party deputy, Erjon Braçe, consideres as “lies” the
declarations released some minutes ago by the Prime Minister Berisha,
that the Central Election Commission is counting the contested votes by
respecting the law.
In a declaration for the media, Braçe warned the CEC Chairman and majority commissioners of having consequences from the criminal court for these illegal actions.
“The Albanians heard the Prime Minister as a liar and with an unstable behavior. According to him, CEC acting as a Zonal Election Commission is something legalized by the Election Code. This is a lie. What CEC is really doing, is taking attributes that haven’t been given by law to them. This is a criminal infringement and all four members will take responsibility”, Braçe declared.
According to him, the Prime Minister lied when he said that the Election Code does not have an article that considers ballot mistakenly cast in wrong boxes as valid.
“He lies. Article 118 says: vote evaluation starts right after the counting process. Every ballot must be opened, and the evaluation must be done vocally. The article specifies: ‘point A – if the ballot does not have the same size and color, it is considered invalid.’ CEC is infringing the law with this article, and this is a criminal act for which Ristani and the three other members have been sued and will take responsibility”, Braçe declared.
He emphasized that the manipulation is happening at a moment when the Zonal Election Commissions have an obligation to make an evaluation even when they have tabulated it.
“The Prime Minister declared that CEC, acting as Zonal Election Commission, is counting, recounting and revaluating the uncounted ballots. He lies. CEC is authorized by the Election Code only for calculating the results given by the Zonal Election Commissions, and this process has been finished in 10 Zonal Election Commissions”, Braçe specified.
“Those votes that Berisha says that the Central Election Commission is counting, recounting and revaluating are votes that have been counted and considered as invalid by every respective Zonal Election Commission that has administered a final summary table. What CEC is doing in these moments is a crime”, Braçe added, warning the right centered commissioners of being taking legal responsabilities.
