Bosnia and Herzegovina banned

FIFA and UEFA have banned Bosnian Football Federation from all international sport activities, according to a press release published on the official sites of world’s and Europe’s highest football organizations.

This decision was taken after Bosnia and Herzegovina failed to adopt the new status proposed by FIFA and UEFA.

FIFA and UEFA executive comities, in order to resolve an inner problem of the Bosnian Football Federation, requested the adaption of their status, FIFA on October 28th 2010 and UEFA on October 4th 2010.

The final warning was given on March 31st, but it was refused again. The latest assembly meeting of Bosnian federation did not reach the necessary quorum to accept these propositions, since only 22 of the 54 delegates voted in favor of the status. This caused immediate suspension of this federation from UEFA and FIFA until a further decision.

This suspension bans Bosnian Football Federation from international activities, starting from April 1st and until the problem is solved.

However, Bosnian Federation will have two months to find a solution before FIFA and UEFA takes the final ban step.

Bosnia’s next match is against Romania, on June 3rd 2011.

This ban zeroes all the points scored until now, which means that Albania also loses one point earned after the draw against Bosnia and will descend on the third place, with seven points instead of eight. France, on top of the group, will descend to 9 points but will still be leading the group. Belarus will remain on the second position with eight points, since they haven’t played against Bosnia Herzegovina.
