With the arrival of summer, all food safety agencies seem to have been more active by even doubling each other.
A considerable amount of food products was seized by the Inspectorate of Hygiene, while the Veterinary Inspectorate in the Tirana Municipality has made an inspection in Tirana markets.
Meanwhile, the National Food Authority, based on the model of the EU Food Safety Agency, today visited Berat. A group of inspectors from the Central Headquarters and Berat Local Headquarters inspected an important trade subject that packs fruits and vegetables.
Fortunately, the inspectors have also given positive notes. But they ordered the business to implement the plan against rodents and the HACCP procedures, the system that identifies, assesses and controls the risks deriving from food.
The National Food Authority is continuing all inspections regularly, in order to consolidate its positions on a national scale. The law about food recognizes to this institution the competences to exert searches and inspections, or to assess and to communicate the risk for all food safety issues, animal health and vegetation protection.
