The leader of the Democratic Party, Lulzim Basha, met with representatives of the US National Democratic Institution (NDI), and stated that the ties of crime with politics may compromise everything Albania has achieved these years.
The DP leader underlined that the only solution for this serious situation is creating an anti-mafia government to dismantle the political mafia system that was established through vote purchase.
“For this, electronic voting and a strict inspection of party finances are vital for democratic elections”, Basha said.
NDI is visiting Tirana to assist political parties with transparency and financial management and supervision.
