The Democratic Party leader, Lulzim Basha, is attending the conference organized by the British Conservatory party about challenges in Western Balkan.

According to the DP, during his stay in London, Basha met with members of the Albanian community talked to them also about the matter with the Prosecutor General.

Basha says that Rama’s decision to take absolute control of the judiciary will make him Prime Minister, Judge and executioner. Basha said that Albanians have already suffered dictatorship, and the opposition will not allow Rama to turn Albania in a place where one single person controls everything.

“This is the end of the judiciary reform, the final step that takes our country under a dictatorship. If Edi Rama appoints the new Prosecutor with only his votes, this is the end of the rule of law, the end of democracy and of the opposition, which makes us obliged to give him the answer he deserves”, Basha said.

The opposition leader said that the only way for a reformed justice can be done through the Constitution, as it was approved on July 22nd, 2016.

Basha said that the Democratic Party has shown with evidence that they have the right will to fight crime: “We will destroy crime and will make Albania an EU member, and Albanians will stop being refugees, but they will work for their country same as the Polish, Bulgarian and Romanian citizens, with their head high, as their Albanian passports will have the same rights as every other European citizen. This is the goal I have set for myself”, Basha said.
