Interior Minister Lulëzim Basha handed his resignations to Prime Minister Berisha, following the election regulations after confirming his candidacy for the Tirana Mayor’s Office.
According to latest information, Basha has also notified the Parliament Speaker, Jozefina Topalli, about his resignation from the deputy post.
Basha will run for Mayor of Tirana against Edi Rama who has been directing this institution for three consecutive mandates.
Sokol Olldashi and Besnik Mustafaj have run for the Democratic Party in previous elections against Edi Rama, actual opposition leader, without succeeding to take the Mayors post.
