Chief of European Diplomacy Catherine Ashton reconfirmed Kosovo’s
European perspective and her commitment for realizing this aspiration.
In a joint conference with Kosovo Prime Minister Hashim Thaçi, Ashton declared that Kosovo, like all other countries of the region, must work hard for fulfilling the recommendations.
“We held important talks for the future of Kosovo as part of the European Union. We share the same vision on this, and we want it to become reality”, Ashton declared.
The Baroness underlined that she talked on other issues too, like the visa liberalization, free trade, EULEX role, etc.
“We have reviewed the possibilities for progress on all these matters”, Ashton specified.
Prime Minister Thaçi highlighted the need of a European Model for solving technical issues with Serbia.
Thaçi emphasized that Serbia’s future depends on her approach toward Kosovo and the cooperation with other neighboring countries.
“The future of Serbia has nothing to do with the name Ratko Mladic, but with their European behavior towards Kosovo. Kosovo will implement all democratic criterions for accelerating EU integration process”, Thaçi declared.
