US Ambassador in Tirana, Alexander Arvizu, urged the Albanian Police to guarantee the appropriate climate so that Albanians will feel free to vote on May 8th.

“I had the pleasure to meet the Chief of the General Police, Mr. Burgaj. I confirmed him the trust that we have in the Police for this difficult situation, after the incidents that have happened. I guaranteed him that we will support the State Police and emphasized that it is vital that the police secures a quiet environment for these elections”, Arvizu declared.

The declaration of Arvizu came after a meeting for the judicial system in Albania.

EU Ambassador, Ettore Sequi reminded the Albanian citizens that EU pays funds for helping Albania fight judicial corruption and that the responsibility remains to the government.

OSCE ambassador, Eugen Wollfarth said that the removal of the immunity should be imposed by the Constitution and not by voluntary declarations.
