Albanian poor cities led by wealthy Mayors

Open Data Albania has published the asset declarations made by several Albanian Mayors. Some of them own more than 1 million EUR.

The first one of on the list is the Socialist Mayor of Puka, Gjon Gjonaj, who has declared 6 million EUR before he was elected Mayor.

Ghjonaj owns several apartments, warehouses and businesses, including half of the Puka “Hotel-Tourism” building. Gjonaj has declared this wealth before he was elected Mayor.

Eduard Kapri, Democratic Party Mayor of Pogradec, is listed second. He has not converted his assets in monetary value in his declaration, but he owns 45 apartments in Shengjin, 3000 square meters in total, and 37 underground areas of apartment buildings in Lezha.

Third on the list is the Socialist Mayor of Roskovec, Majlinda Bufi, who owns several apartments, lands and businesses mounting up to 1.5 million EUR. She has accumulated this wealth working as an emigrant.

Tonin Marinaj, the Socialist Mayor of Malesi e Madhe, is fourth on the list, with 1.3 million EUR.

Fiqiri Ismaili, Democratic Party Mayor of Vora, owns 1 million EUR, 5 apartments, shops and a business of agricultural inputs.

Sixth and Seventh are two known members of the Socialist Party, Vangjush Dako in Durres and Qazim Sejdini in Elbasan.

The Mayor of Durres owns a 11-floor building, several lands and warehouses which mount up to 650.000 EUR. The Mayor of Elbasan owns 640.000 EUR of real estates, most of which in Fier.
