Opposition: Political blocking of Municipal Unit 5

The Socialist Party accused the democratic vote counters in
Zonal Election Commission 49 of Municipal Unit 5 at the Albanian capital
of intentionally blocking the vote counting process.

The Socialist deputy Mimi Kodheli declared that the motives of this blocking are political and absurd.

According to her, the Central Election Commission is also responsible for this situation, which, according to her, is not taking the necessary measures for solving the problem.

“Our ZEC 49 representatives in Municipal Unit 5 say that the Democratic commissioners are blocking the vote counting process. This is unjustifiable, but the gravest fact is the way the Central Election Commission is behaving, completely ignoring what is happening at Municipal Unit 5”, Kodheli declared.

“This process has not been blocked for technical reasons, but for political ones. We have all witnessed the absurd motives that the Democratic Party commissioners are presenting for blocking the vote counting process when the result is in favor of Edi Rama”, she added.

The Socialist Deputy appealed Central Election Commission to take against the Democratic Party commissioners the same measures that they have taken in the past against the Socialist Party when there have been violations.
