The Minister of Finances and Economy, Arben Ahmetaj, declared that the government expects to lower the public debt at 64.9% by 2019.

He said that salaries would be increased for several sectors of the public administration, such as health institutions, education, defense, prison police and the diplomatic body.

“4650 doctors and 13765 nurses will receive a pay raise”, Ahmetaj said. “The payment of teachers will be raised by 7%, together with judges and prosecutors”, he added.

The Baby Bonus will help more than 30,000 families with a 2-billion-ALL budget. For every first-born child, parents will receive 40,000 ALL (around 400 USD), 800 USD for the second-born and 1200 USD for the third-born. Twins will be considered both second-born children, and triplets will be considered third-born, the three of them.
