Mineral export dropped, 5 billion ALL less for this trimester

Exports dropped with 12.8% in March, mainly due to the strong drop in mining, energy, fuels and construction materials.
The Institution of Statistics reported that the Albanian companies exported 19.3 billion ALL in total, from 22.1 billion ALL they had last March.
For the entire trimester, exports were 5 billion ALL lower than the same period of one year ago.
Albanian exports have been penalized these past two years by a strong drop of the oil price in the international markets, recently even due to lower exports of construction materials.
According to INSTAT, exports for these two groups were 100 million USD lower than the last year. But this drop was softer due to the positive progress of manufacturing and agricultural products, which kept growing with double figures.
Commercial exchange in our country increased positively with imports. Albania imported 3.8% more goods, especially machineries for new business investments.
