The European MP, Tanya Fajon, visited Albania for a meeting at the Prime
Minister’s office titled “New Generations, United Europe”, focusing on
Albania’s challenges towards integration. Fajon said that Albania has
progressed and its place is certainly in the EU.

“You have reached significant results during the past year for five key points. My message is to keep doing more. We are trying to support you with the colleagues of the European Parliament”, Fajon said.

She underlined that despite the unclear situation that dominates today in the EU, Albania’s place in it is undisputable and this is also for the interest of the 27-member block.

“Albania has always been part of the EU. We need each other. The situation that we are experiencing today, from one crisis to another, is something that no European country can resolve on its own”, Fajon said.

She added that she has high hopes on the youth of Albania, and expects the country to pass the accession challenges. “I will be on your side”, Fajon declared.

Prime Minister Edi Rama said that Albania is in the phase of leaving behind the chaotic developments of the past 25 years.

“The fact that today, after 25 years, we are involved in a reform like that of justice, speaks about what we have been missing with the justice reform and with all the systems that make the state function”, Rama said.

The government leader valued integration as a vital process that has kept the country on the right track.

“We have a Europe without a complete project that makes it dysfunctional. The principles that created the foundations of Europe have crumbled”, Rama said.
