The French government condemned the violent acts in Northern Kosovo,
especially at Border Checkpoint no.1, which was set to fire.

“France appeals all responsible governments to undertake all necessary measures for ensuring a calmer situation”, declared the Spokesperson of the Foreign Ministry, Bernard Valero.

The Spokesperson emphasized that these measures should be taken in close cooperation with the KFOR command and EULEX mission.

Valero expressed the official stance of France that the solution of the problems in Northern Kosovo must be achieved only through dialogue.

EU head of Foreign Policy, Catherine Ashton also condemned violence in a previous declaration, saying that Belgrade and Prishtina are responsible for decreasing tensions and establishing law and order for everyone.
